The visual door is opened when we visually produce what we see in the soul of our mind’s eye. The more we practice the better we get at representing the hidden things in the unseen realm. We as artisans are important because the work of our hands act as conduits between the seen and unseen, spinning straw into gold so to speak. In the FDAF, artists work together to produce finished products for multi-purposes. We’ve learned to combine our skills to birth God’s vision in all four doors. Combining gifts allows for more complicated, larger and time efficient pieces

(Leaning The Golden Rule) with every visual project we learn good composition through how things are arranged and laid out when creating a work of art.
The elements of art are used by an artist to depict what is being said, and how it is being said. This involves colour, shapes, lines, textures, volume and 3-dimensional techniques .

In every visual forum there is…
– the principles of design and the elements of art work in the planning stages
– critically discerning our own art work in a forum way
– how to plan with time management a good composition
– the colour wheel and mixing colours
– applications of warm and cool colours
– applications of values (lightness and darkness)
– to use various measures and strategies to achieve the desired effect using the principles of design such as: balance, unity, repetition, positive/negative, perspective, focal point, proportion, spacial relationships, movement, flow, mood, etc.
