This spring we did a Mural commission for the Twin Marine Restaurant and fishing outfitter in Nipawin Regional Park.

Step 1

Each project we work on is unique, presenting interesting challenges from which we learn and benefit from. This project was different for us in that it was to be a permanent window painting for the outdoors, instead of a temporary window painting done indoors.

Step 2

Drawing and priming the glass for long lasting results.

Step 4

The finished result is a beautiful eye catching mural on the Twin Marine deck overlooking the Nipawin river.

Creative Journaling Using Art Classes

What is CREATIVE JOURNALING ? CREATIVE JOURNALING is a “Form of Art” useful for documenting new ideas and stimulating the brain (cognition).  Whether the journal is a visual, textual, or musical in nature, it is good for all ages because it introduces innovation with a voice of inspiration. Why take the sessions of CREATIVE JOURNALING? Every “six week session” at the HUB provides a creative atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy learning.  At the end of every class, one can look forward to a product which has incorporated domains of cognition. Whether advanced or a beginner, recharging the creative and critical juices begins with a 9″ X 12″  journal book intended to be filled with meaning for one’s own personal growth. DSCF7015Through observation and “hands on activities,”   the aspect of drawing and painting integrate the elements and principles of art while a variety of multi-mediums (pencil/pens, pastel, water color, inks, acrylic and texturing, oil and wax) are provided. This is to introduce manifold experimentation, and motivational inventiveness. No two classes are the same; nor are the activities the same in which “confidence, courage, and character” are established through the pages. (see: art makes you smart-NY times.com; “Art Grows Brains” and “Art grows Children’s Brains” by the site-artrageous-minds ) .

Personalizing cherished memories, is possible with customized artwork. In this case, hummingbirds were the selected choice.

Hummingbirds are small, colorful birds with iridescent feathers. Flapping their wings about 80 times per second, a humming sound can be heard. With the ability
to fly in various directions such as: right, left, up, down, backwards,  and even upside down, these tiny birds are interesting to watch.

These boots were made for painting…

Before being discarded as useless the artist carefully studied the historical and romantic intent of this old, worn out cowboy boot. Who knows the life it has lived, the places it’s been, the people there, the adventure experienced. The mystery will remain with the artfully painted and decorated boot and the one who wore it.
